If there is a crime in progress or a life threatening emergency call 9-1-1 immediately!

Types of crimes that can be reported in person at Ridgefield HQ:

• Identity Theft
• Theft of a bicycle
• Theft
• Harassment (except domestic violence, threats with a weapon or bomb threats)
• Criminal Mischief
• Lost property (except lost firearms or other weapon)
• Follow up report
• Reports for insurance purposes
• Fraud, embezzlement or bad checks
• Credit Card Theft
• Shoplifting (when the victim has no knowledge what was actually stolen or the suspect is unknown and there is no vehicle information)
• Simple Assault (only when the victim knows the offender. Does not include domestic violence)

Traffic Accident reports can be picked up at the Police Records Bureau, 700 Shaler Blvd, Ridgefield, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The fee is $1.00 per page.  When a request for an accident report is made in writing by mail, please mail in a check and/or money order for $5.50 to the Ridgefield Police Department, Records Bureau, 700 Shaler Blvd, Ridgefield, NJ 07657.  Accident reports are generally 1 to 3 pages in length, depending upon the severity of the accident. Police Incident Reports may also be picked at the Record’s Bureau, however, some restrictions may apply.

        1. State: NEW JERSEY
        2. Jurisdiction: Ridgefield Police Department
        3. Date of Incident: The date of the incident
        4. Report Number: Your police case number
