An Overview

The Planning Board consists of volunteer residents appointed by the Mayor and Council who are responsible for preparing the Borough Master Plan in compliance with the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL). The Board also reviews zoning ordinances referred to it by the Mayor and Council.

Board Composition

The Planning Board consists of nine (9) members and two (2) alternate members. The Board is assisted by a professional staff consisting of:

• An Attorney
• A Professional Planner
• The Borough Engineer
• An Administrative Officer / Board Secretary

Planning Board Meetings

The Planning Board meets for public hearing once each month on the third Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Ridgefield Municipal Complex, 700 Shaler Boulevard, Ridgefield, NJ 07657.

Future Proposals

Applicants contemplating a future proposal may take advantage of a one-time, no-fee opportunity to informally present their project to the Planning Board. Five to ten minutes are allotted for discussion and feedback.

The Planning Board Secretary must be contacted in advance to be placed on the Work Session agenda.
