Mission & Services

The mission of the Ridgefield Recreation & Parks Department is to offer a variety of quality services to residents of all ages so their leisure time may be spent in a productive, meaningful, and enjoyable manner in safe environments.

Services include educational, instructional, and recreational programs and activities that provide diverse options for the community.

Programs Offered

The department offers seasonal sports programs for boys and girls, including soccer, cheerleading, football, basketball, and wrestling, as well as a six-week summer camp for children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade.

All programs are available to Ridgefield residents only.

In addition, a variety of classes for adults and children are offered year-round. Seasonal flyers provide details on upcoming classes and events. Suggestions for new programs are always welcome.

Volunteer Opportunities

All sports programs are coached by volunteers. Community involvement is vital to the success of Recreation & Parks programs and is greatly appreciated.

These services foster new relationships, mutual respect in a multicultural environment, and a stronger commitment to the Ridgefield community.

Directions to the Recreation Department

From New Jersey Turnpike North:

Follow signs for the George Washington Bridge. Take Route 46 East to the Broad Avenue exit. At the traffic light, turn right onto Broad Avenue. Look for two yellow flashing lights at Banta Place and turn left. At the bottom of the hill, turn right at the stop sign onto Shaler Boulevard. At the next light, turn left onto Edgewater Avenue. Make the second left onto Chestnut Street. At the end of the street, turn left into the parking lot. Follow the steps down to the Recreation Department / Pool Complex.
