Councilmember Jaafar is a lifelong Ridgefield resident of over 23 years and was raised and educated in the community. From participating in local youth sports at Five Firemen’s Field to learning from Ridgefield’s dedicated teachers and coaches, these experiences instilled the values of leadership, accountability, and teamwork that guide his public service.

Elected to the Ridgefield Borough Council in November 2024, Councilmember Jaafar was appointed Chairperson of the Department of Public Works in 2026. In this role, he works collaboratively to support the Borough’s infrastructure, essential services, and overall quality of life for residents.

As a first-generation American of Lebanese and Dominican heritage, Councilmember Jaafar is grateful for the opportunities Ridgefield has provided and remains committed to serving the community with integrity, transparency, and collaboration.
