New Lightning Alerting System Will Help Keep Ridgefield, New Jersey Residents Safer

Ridgefield, New Jersey has taken a proactive step toward public safety with the installation of three automated lightning alerting systems at area facilities that include Veterans Park, Meadowlands Park, and Willis Park.

When lightning is detected within a ten mile radius, loud audible horns will sound to warn of the approaching danger. WeatherBug deployed the solution and operates the world’s largest weather observing and lightning networks. The Maryland-based company has been deploying weather sensors and implementing severe weather safety solutions at schools and public venues for 20 years.
