The Ridgefield Fire Prevention Bureau has begun a "Smoke Detector Program" for the residents of Ridgefield. This program consist of a Fire Prevention Inspector coming to your residence and changing the battery in your smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors if you are unable to do it yourself. This program will be free of charge to the Residents of Ridgefield and the batteries will be supplied by the Fire Prevention Bureau. In a case were your smoke detector is outdated or defective the Fire Prevention Bureau will supply you with a new smoke detector at no charge. If you would like to participate in this program, please call the Ridgefield Fire Prevention Bureau at (201) 945-6008 and set up an appointement. This program is available throughout the year.
